Dr. Monica Offringa, a proud graduate of Michigan State University, joined our Red Barn team shortly after completing her veterinary schooling in 2023. Dr. Offringa's favorite part of working in veterinary medicine is seeing a treatment plan work to perfection thanks to the dedication of the owners that love their pets so much. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Offringa enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, watching football and traveling, most recently a beautiful trip to Costa Rica. Dr. Offringa's home includes two cats, Corkscrew and Jack.
Dr. Allison Marr
Dr. Allison Marr, a Byron Center High School graduate, has been working at the Red Barn Veterinary Clinic since she was 16 years old! She graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012, immediately returned to the Red Barn and has been helping West Michigan pets ever since! Dr. Marr excels in cases with internal medicine or dermatology focus and enjoys them even more if they involve Boston Terriers or French Bulldogs! To add to her professional resume, Dr. Marr–along with Dr. Hunter–purchased the Red Barn Veterinary Clinic in 2022. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Marr enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband, a menagerie of animals and a daughter, Lilly. She also is an amazing foster mom for pocket pets, working with the West Michigan Critter Haven. In 2022 she helped 16 guinea pigs find forever homes!
Dr. Ericka Hunter
Dr. Ericka Hunter, a native Yooper, graduated with Dr. Marr from Michigan State’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Following graduation, she completed a rotating small animal internship at MSU’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Hunter practiced both general and emergency medicine in Wisconsin and the U.P. before moving to the Grand Rapids area in 2018. She joined the Red Barn team in March of 2022, shortly before purchasing the practice with Dr. Marr. Dr. Hunter enjoys surgical cases, wound management and all things feline. Grumpy kitties hold a special place in her heart! At home, Dr. Hunter keeps busy with her husband, two little boys, two cats and her dog. She’s also an avid reader, trying to squeeze in a few pages each day!
